CBX for use in lake and water feature applications attacks the problem from several different angles. CBX contains a diverse cross section of aerobic organisms including a unique variety of cyanobacteria which competes with the pond algae for nutrients. The aerobic nature of the cyanobacteria produces oxygen and CO2 which effectively replaces the gases which are the by-product of anaerobic conditions commonly found in lakes and water features. This method of odor control is especially effective in lakes where reclaimed water is used, in most cases completely eliminating the odor. Applications should be made monthly at roughly 5 ppm spreading the CBX as uniformly as possible over the surface of the feature or by utilizing an agitating feature such as a water fall or stream. It is recommended that an initial application of 7 to 10 ppm be made to inoculate the water feature and accelerate control over the body of water.
